Professional Requirements Engineering

Requirements Engineering is primarily concerned with the determination and documentation of all requirements concerning the system that is to be developed. The areas needing special consideration in this context are: requirements gathering, analysis, specification and verification, as well as requirements management.

Requirements gathering is the determination of requirements in conjunction with users and stakeholders. Analysis validates them and offers a structural overview across all system requirements that are then carefully documented during the specification process. Verification ensures that these requirements conform to all important criteria. Requirements management is an administrative role supported with the help of adequate methods and tools.
