Enterprise Architecture Management as a long-term base for the further development of IT

Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) describes the relation of IT and business processes in an organization. In contrast to the term Software Architecture, EAM views the role of IT in a more comprehensive and abstract light.

MaibornWolff's et al services in the area of EAM reach from charting and mapping the IT-application landscape in form of development plans, over the definition of architectural managements key processes and figures, to the direct communication and explanation of the newly introduced methods and processes within the organization.

EAM visualizes business processes and their supporting IT systems. Consequently, dependencies become easier to detect. This facilitates the illustration and evaluation of the effects of changes in particular systems on the overall system.
